Life on the farm from Mama’s perspective

So, I blog quite a bit on Myspace, which really irks A.J. He has asked that I share some of those blogs on this site. You’ll find that life on the farm from my perspective is quite a bit different than his view. Where his world mainly revolves around the furry and feathered children, mine revolves around our two legged ones, lol. I’m going to make my first blog here a copy and paste of my favorite blog from myspace which I posted back in February when A.J. was out of town and I was left to tend to the animals and children all by myself, I titled it “WHERE’S MY XANAX?!?!?!”

If you look around in my house and don’t find Aubrey, chances are she is in the goat barn, which is where she has been most of today. A little bit ago she came running in the house screaming “I let them out!” I tell her to keep an eye on Andrew and run out to the barn where I spent a half an hour trying to get the goats back in their pen, when I’d get one back in another would get out. I’m sure the three stooges couldn’t have written a better script. In the middle of all of this chaos when I am sure that I am being laughed at by goats, I hear Aubrey screaming for me at the top of her lungs out the back door. So, I leave the goats running free in the barn with a victorious look on their faces and take off running back to the house. When I get there she tells me that Andrew got the chocolate cream pie that I had made for dinner tonight out of the fridge so they could sneak some while I was gone and he dropped it on the floor. I peak in the kitchen and sure enough there is my pie in the middle of the floor with Andrew sitting beside it happily shoveling it into his already chocolate covered face with both hands and sitting right beside him lapping up the mess is Puppy our blind arthritic dog whom I haven’t seen look that happy in years. I tell Aubrey “Oh well at least it’s keeping him occupied, I’ll clean it up when I get back.” then I head back to the barn to wipe the smug look off the goat’s faces. I finally rustled them all back into their pen, deposited Andrew and Aubrey in the bath tub, and now I am here at my place of escape Myspace until my xanax kicks in. So, how was your day?

You forgot the best part. I was at a doctor’s appointment when the cell phone rang. It was Aimee explaining what was going on. My doctor overheard my end of the conversation in its entirety. Later, my doctor commented about how much I rely on my wife (she sends notes with me) and how I would be lost without her. I asked: Did you hear the phone call? Yes, I would be lost without you dear. And without me, well I guess you just described it.

Pie on the floor, animals on the loose, and heathen children running a muck.
